International Bedding to open R&D center in Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Top 15 bedding producer International Bedding says it will open a 15,000-square-foot Research & Development Center in Orlando, Fla., early next year to conduct product research, design and testing.

"This decision not only reflects our firm commitment to IB's future but also demonstrates the tremendous importance we place on innovation, quality and the ethic of continuous improvement at our company," said IB CEO Jeff Maillet

Mark Wozniak, the company's vice president of marketing, said the new R&D center will occupy an existing building that's adjacent to the producer's 100,000-square-foot factory in Orlando. The center will include a large showroom to display IB's product lines and marketing programs.

"We're a company that has always focused on exploring bold ideas, using the best quality materials and holding ourselves to the highest possible standards," Wozniak said. "As such, we're very excited about how this development will further elevate the design and performance of sleep products that carry the International Bedding brand."

Wozniak said plans for modifying and equipping the building will begin shortly. While work will continue on the R&D center, the company expects the showroom portion of the facility will be completed and ready for product presentations as early as this fall.
